Academy watch: three youngsters step up

Three academy graduates have been named in the senior squad for the weekend's fixture, in recognition of consistent performances at academy and youth level this season.
It continues a deliberate pathway approach, in which the coaching staff have described the step as 'earned on the training pitch rather than decided on reputation'.

- Academy Graduate One — midfielder, capped at youth level
- Academy Graduate Two — full back, joined the academy at 14
- Academy Graduate Three — forward, top scorer in the reserve league
How it is managed
Training loads are monitored individually, with the reserve side providing most of the competitive minutes. The objective is a first exposure without undue pressure, and staff have been clear that there is no expectation to be thrown straight into the starting line-up.
